Project #7: Granny Hearts

Pinterest is a very inspiring place to look for new crochet and crafting projects. Last week I came across some granny hearts. I slightly altered the pattern and that's what came out:

I used:
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8195 (teal)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8195 (lime)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8192 (pumpkin)

They are so easy and fast to hook! Pattern to come :)

Crochet Star Pattern

As promised here's the pattern of the little crochet stars!

Crochet two stars using the following pattern. Start every star with a ring in which you crochet the five sc of the first row.
Afterwards, add mouth and face using black wool and hook them together with slip stitches.

Strickliesel reloaded

Yesterday, my parents came over for brunch. And look what my mother brought me :) The Strickliesel so reminds me of when I was a little girl! Unfortunately, I don't know the English word for it. dict.cc suggested knitting Jenny but when I googled that, I only found pictures of way larger knitting helpers. But I'm sure some of you can help me here :)

Well, as you can see I started right away, I've knittend about 90 cm already. And I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I'm going to do with it. My friend Kristin made coaster for her tea pot, maybe I'm going to do the same, let's see.

Have a great week everyone!

Project #5: Owls

Hello everyone,

here's project #5 for my No Buy Challenge and project #3 for the Stash-Buster Challenge (see sidebar for more information): Owls!

A couple of weeks ago I found these amazing Crocodile Stitch Owls over at Ravelry. Unfortunately, the pattern costs a few bugs and as those challenges are about not buying anything for your projects I had to improvise. Turned out quite good, don't you think :)

I used:
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in yellow
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in green
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in brown
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in vanilla for the eyes
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in orange for the beak
  • Black felt for the pupils

Project #4: A Felt Tote

I just finished my "No Buy" project number four: A felt tote!

I used parts of that IKEA bag I already cut into pieces for project #2. The rest is blue felt.

I used:
  • A blue IKEA plastic bag
  • Royal blue felt (yes, it's blue even though in the pictures it looks purple)
  • Navy blue sewing thread

The tote measures approximately 25 x 30 cm.

Project #3: A Little Bee

Here's my next project for the No Buy Challenge as well as for the Stash-Buster Challenge:
A Little Bee!

I hooked this little bee on request by a good friend of mine. Even though it's pretty small I used only yarn from my stash and didn't buy anything new for it and that makes it a project that fits for both challenges.

I used:
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8201 (yellow)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8226 (black)
  • Small pieces of white felt
  • Fiberfill

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Project #2: A Pencil Case

Here's my second "No Buy" project: A pencil case made out of an IKEA bag!

Besides using things I already own I also recycled one of the numerous IKEA bags I bought. IKEA Kassel is just 10 minutes away, I think that explains why I have so many ;)

I used:
  • A blue IKEA plastic bag
  • A navy blue plastic zipper, 23 cm
  • Navy blue sewing thread

The pencil case measures 19 x 8 cm.
And yes, I own a lot of LAMY pens :)

Yours,
Uta
