Self-Made Hand Warmer

This is another project inspired by a certain pin I found over at pinterest:

I also sewed a little cushion filled with rice. Furthermore I hooked a tine cozy for it. And that's how it turned out:

I gave that little hand warmer to Kristin for her birthday.

Egg Cozies

Hello everyone!

Sorry for being MIA again, I was on vacation for a little while, a 14-days cruise with AIDA - pics to come soon :) First some updates on what I hooked lately...

Just in time for her birthday I decided to crochet a new set of egg cozies for Kristin. This is how they turned out:

The wool is Woll Butt Versailles in orange and vanilla. It's a 100% acrylic yarn, soft and nice to crochet with.

Stash-Busting Scarf

Just recently I realized the end of the year is coming nearer and nearer but my stash didn't really get any smaller so I thought it was about time to do some major stash-busting. The result? A colorful scarf :)

It measures 155 cm. Turned out quite nice :)

Owl Twins

A couple of weeks ago Kristin sent me the following pin via pinterest:

>>> Click on the picture to see Pin at Pinterest <<<

I wasn't really keen on paying something for the pattern so I improvised and that is what came out:

They are just 8 cm in height so not as huge as the original one.

Sending some love to all of you!

Bike Saddle Cozy

A huge THANK YOU to my friend Kristin for finally making me crochet again!!! After weeks/months of not even looking at my crochet hooks I kinda found my way back to one of my favorite hobbies. All it took was Kristin asking me to hook a bike saddle cozy for her. This is how it turned out:

I used a pattern that is available in German right over here (altered it slightly though): Sattelkleider / Landlust

And right after finishing that cozy I went through a box of unfinished crochet projects...

Uta

Granny Heart Pattern

Here's the pattern for the Granny Hearts!

Simply start like crocheting a granny square. Join every round with a couple of slip stitches so you don't have to break the yarn. In round one crochet 2 ch for each corner, in round two only crochet 1 ch for the corner. Also instead of the 1 ch between the 3 dc hook one dc on two sides in the second row.

Project #7: Granny Hearts

Pinterest is a very inspiring place to look for new crochet and crafting projects. Last week I came across some granny hearts. I slightly altered the pattern and that's what came out:

I used:
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8195 (teal)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8195 (lime)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8192 (pumpkin)

They are so easy and fast to hook! Pattern to come :)

Crochet Star Pattern

As promised here's the pattern of the little crochet stars!

Crochet two stars using the following pattern. Start every star with a ring in which you crochet the five sc of the first row.
Afterwards, add mouth and face using black wool and hook them together with slip stitches.

Project #5: Owls

Hello everyone,

here's project #5 for my No Buy Challenge and project #3 for the Stash-Buster Challenge (see sidebar for more information): Owls!

A couple of weeks ago I found these amazing Crocodile Stitch Owls over at Ravelry. Unfortunately, the pattern costs a few bugs and as those challenges are about not buying anything for your projects I had to improvise. Turned out quite good, don't you think :)

I used:
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in yellow
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in green
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in brown
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in vanilla for the eyes
  • Woll Butt Versailles yarn in orange for the beak
  • Black felt for the pupils

Project #3: A Little Bee

Here's my next project for the No Buy Challenge as well as for the Stash-Buster Challenge:
A Little Bee!

I hooked this little bee on request by a good friend of mine. Even though it's pretty small I used only yarn from my stash and didn't buy anything new for it and that makes it a project that fits for both challenges.

I used:
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8201 (yellow)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8226 (black)
  • Small pieces of white felt
  • Fiberfill

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Project #1: Crochet Flower Garland

Here's the first project for my "No Buy Challenge" as well as for the "Stash-Buster Challenge" (see sidebar for more information): A Crochet Flower Garland!

This one is quite easy to make but the hooking and joining takes a couple of hours.

I used:
  • The Six Petal Flower pattern by Lionbrand (available HERE)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8303 (purple)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo Color yarn, 2086 (violet print)
  • Purple pearl cotton (brand and color code unknown)
  • Fake plastic pearls

The garland consists of 11 crochet flowers that were joined with purple pearl cotton and a couple of fake plastic pearls. It measures 2,40 meters.
