Stamps

A new art supplies shop opend here in Kassel. Of course I already went there and checked out their assortment. And I must say, I loved what I saw. They offer everything from painting supplies to scrap booking and whatnot. One of the first things I bought there for myself was a set of stamps:

I already have an idea what to use them for....

Project #1: Crochet Flower Garland

Here's the first project for my "No Buy Challenge" as well as for the "Stash-Buster Challenge" (see sidebar for more information): A Crochet Flower Garland!

This one is quite easy to make but the hooking and joining takes a couple of hours.

I used:
  • The Six Petal Flower pattern by Lionbrand (available HERE)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo yarn, 8303 (purple)
  • Schachenmayr Bravo Color yarn, 2086 (violet print)
  • Purple pearl cotton (brand and color code unknown)
  • Fake plastic pearls

The garland consists of 11 crochet flowers that were joined with purple pearl cotton and a couple of fake plastic pearls. It measures 2,40 meters.

Introducing my "No Buy Challenge"

Hello everyone,

I have so much stuff stored in shelves and boxes - yarn, paper, pearls, leather bands and whatnot. It is definitely time to finally get rid of at least a small part of this. Therefore I intend to challenge myself throughout this year with a "No Buy Challenge".

The rules are simple: Don't buy anything for what you're crafting! I'm basically going to use things I already have around for 12 crafty projects this year. This will definitely challenge my creativity as well as my improvisation skills, I can tell you ;)

Well, stay tuned for more, I'm going to post the first project real soon!

Granny Tote

This is another present I hooked for Christmas 2012. This one I made for my friend Kristin. Unfortunately, the package in which I sent it got lost and therefore arrived late.

I think this tote is one of my favorite ones so far.

Count Ugly

Here's another one of my Christmas presents.
My sister asked me for a buddy for her purple ugly bunny. Well, I didn't really have a pattern available to I just started hooking and this ugly buddy turned out to be a tiny vampire - Count Ugly :)

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Rainbow Granny Blanket: Update 2

I made a little progress concerning my Rainbow Granny Blanket lately. As it I had to get back to work on January, 2nd already, I'm currently not having that much free time anymore as I enjoyed around the holidays. Therefore my productivity rate went down a bit. BUT I finished one more color or better to say 14 squares. All in all that means I'm down to 111 granny squares left to hook.

Color and Wool:
  • Schachenmayr Bravo 8267 (oatmeal heather) - for the edging
  • Schachenmayr Bravo 8201 (yellow)

Tea Bag Paper Flowers

A couple of days ago, a tutorial for cute little paper flowers came my way and as I still have tons of tea bag papers stored in a box....

I'm thinking of maybe crafting a few more and than making a ball out of it but I'm not sure yet.
