Crochet Hat

Just recently, I finished crocheting this hat while working on a new pattern for my friend Kristin. Despite the fact that I look totally silly when wearing a hat, I think it turned out quite well :)

Owl Wrist Warmers

My friend Kristin sent me a picture of knitted owl wrist warmers a couple of months ago. Unfortunately I didn't find neither time nor inspiration to think about a crocheted look-a-like - until the beginning of January.
I made a pair for Kristin and a pair for my sister.

The wrist warmers for Kristin...

.... and the wrist warmers for my sister

Pattern (for the owl, not for the whole wrist warmer) to come!

These Slippers Were Made For Lounging

I successfully realized one of the project ideas mentioned in my resolutions for 2014, I hooked some slippers :)

Initially, I wanted to crochet a pair of Mary Jane slippers. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any appropriate yarn and I wasn’t really in the mood for expanding my ever-growing stash even more. So I went for what I had, some yarn for socks. Therefore, I heavily altered the original pattern, made a few tweaks here and there and that's the result:

Pattern to come!

Snowflakes For My Windows

I do have a lot of decoration for my windows, for almost every season, in almost every color. But for whatever reason I totally missed out on Winter decoration. Well, Christmas is over and I did't want to go straight from straw stars to spring flowers. Luckily, my mum lent me her snowflake templates. Quick and easy decoration. You neither need a lot of material nor does it take long to craft.

2013 Advent Greetings

It became a tradition that Kristin and I give each other small advent calanders. I usually buy cards for that occasion. Last year I decided to craft such a card myself. The inspiration for the motive came to me over at pinterest:

I slightly altered the theme and that's the result:

New Year's Resolutions for 2014

Hi everyone out there!

I hope you all had wonderful Christmas holidays and made it safely into 2014 :)

I myself celebrated both quietly at my parents' house with my family, did some crocheting, read a book, watched a lot of TV and did some Pilates now and then.
I also found some time to think about resolutions for 2014. Well, the thing with resolutions is, they mostly turn out to be somehow impossible to realize. Therefore I tried to concentrate on things that aren't too off and where there's a slight chance I might actually make them come true. And that's the result:

  • Self-made Christmas presents
  • Craft easter egg felt ornaments
  • make some corn dollys
  • bake some gingerbread houses for tea cups
  • hook some slippers
  • hook a bag
  • read more Dresden Files books
  • Sew some Martha Stewart shoe bags
  • Start running
  • Erfurt City break (visit Melanie)
  • Berlin City break (visit Kristin)
  • London City break (just because)

Have a great start in 2014!

Yours
Uta
