Crafting Paper Mini Haul

Hello everyone,

sorry for not posting last Wednesday. I was still pretty sick and could not come up with some proper content in time. The video I'm sharing with you today has actually been recorded a little while ago. I found it on my hard drive just the other day. This way I can at least share something with you today :)

See you soon!

Look what I bought & Update on the Crochet Backpack

Hey ladies and gentlemen,

let me start with a quick update on my Crochet Backpack.

You can find some basic information about this project right HERE.
And the first update where I showed you the bottom part can be found HERE.

It was quite hot here in Kassel the past few days so I didn't really feel like crocheting a lot. But I managed to add a couple of rounds to the side of the backpack-to-be so I'm now at row 15. Weight is now 73g, height is 14cm. I originally planned the side of the backpack to be 30 rows but with 14cm at 15 rows I think I will add a few more, let's see.

So here's how it looks at the moment:

And as the title of my blog post already implies, I did a bit of shopping lately. So here are a few crafty thingies I bought:

two books bought at tkmaxx

washi tape bought at my favorite drugstore DM
I'm extremely in love with the two thin ones :)

These IKEA finds might not look that crafty at first glance
but let me assure you, I had some crafty projects in mind
when buying these :)

Have a great week everyone!

July Findings

Hello beloved blog readers!

how are you doing these days? Did everyone have a great Blue Moon yesterday (Blue Moon as in second Full Moon in one month)?

Someone brought to my attention that I used to address only female readers for a little while beginning my blog posts and videos with something like "Hi Ladies". Well, as a matter of fact, a male friend of mine, a true gentleman if I might add, pointed that out. So as I now can be assured that men and women alike are reading my written texts, I'll try to keep it neutral in the future :)

Well anyway, I'm just quickly poppin' in to share with you some of my July findings, so let's get started...

1) Okay, this one isn't exactly crafting-related but I have to share it with you - McVitie's Digestive biscuits are now available at my local grocery store, isn't that awesome! This might not be such a biggie for my beloved UK people out there but for me that's almost like Christmas ;)

2) I bought these two seaweed baskets at Xenos last week. Yes, they are made of seaweed, I also had to look twice at the tag. Their diameter is about 21 cm. So I thought I could maybe sew a nice fabric inlay for both and then use them as bread baskets, what do you think?

3) These chalkboard labels are from Xenos as well. They come with a piece of chalk but instead of using this one I will probably buy a chalk pen.

4) Well, with an IKEA not far away, maybe 5 minutes by car, it probably won't surprise anyone that I bought these lovely postcards at IKEA a couple of days ago. Aren't they cute? I'm actually thinking about framing these and hanging them somewhere in my kitchen.

Alright, that's it for today. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

This & That

I just quickly wanted to share with you three things:

1) I finally organized some yarn scraps using little card board cards

2) I am so hooked on Flow Magazine and Mollie Makes thanks to my friend Kristin

3) I'm in love with Liquorice & Spearmint tea and desperately searching for a shop near Kassel who's selling it

And that's it :)

Have a nice weekend, ladies!

Shopping Haul: Yarn & Crafting Supplies

Hey ladies,

a couple of days ago I told you that we had some extreme weather here in Kassel. Well, seems like my car got hid by some heavy hail stones which caused some small dents. I will stop by the garage on Monday and let the guys have a look at it. Luckily my insurance is going to pay for the repair but the car is not even a year old :(
Thursday evening I found out we had water in our basement. Lucky me, my room was not on the side where the water came in. Furthermore, a small threshold prevented the worst, my stuff did not get wet at all!

Sooooooo, today I stopped by the local yarn and crafting suppliers store and I would like to show you what I bought:

Six sheets of RICO DESIGN scrapbooking paper - they were on sale for 0,49 € each.
The patterns are: 7007.214, 7007.173, 7007.206, 7007.180, 7007.218 and 7007.220

Two RICO DESIGN Paper Poetry Sets - they were on sale for 1,99 € each.
The patterns are: 7090.30.79

Wolle Rödel Häkelgarn (top) - 100% cotton, 50g, 260m, recommended hook size 1.75-2.0. The colors are 1515, 1501 and 1551.
RICO DESIGN essentials cotton lurex (which I already own in light blue) - 97% cotton & 3% lurex, 50g, 170m. The color is 001, white.
And a Wolle Rödel Crochet Hook size 2.

That's it! I wish all of you a great weekend!

Yarn Haul

Hey Ladies!

I know, I know, I haven't been on here that often lately. But I promise that doesn't mean I'm not working on some crafting or crochet projects. As a matter of fact, I am currently busy preparing some sort of Halloween special. Furthermore, I already started working on some Christmas decor. So I'm quite positive I'll have some new crafty creations to share with you in June.

In the meantime, a little yarn haul! I stocked up on yarn, mainly acrylic but also a cotton blend.

So in the picture you can see...

...a huge blue skein of blue acrylic yarn on the right. I bought it at Real (comparable to Walmart) a little while ago and it seems to be their own brand.
Knitting Yarn Maxi Quick - Color code 735, 400g, 1066m, 100% acrylic yarn, hook size 3-3.5mm

...on the bottom left three cream-colored skeins of another acrylic yarn. These I bought at Galeria Kaufhof (a German department store chain).
Schachenmayr Bravo - Color Code 8200, 133m, 50g, 100% acrylic yarn, hook size 3-4mm

...on top of the Schachenmayr Bravo skeins two colorful skeins of - you might have guessed it already - yet another acrylic yarn. This one was also bought at Galeria Kaufhof.
Schachenmayr Bravo Color - Color code 2083, 50g, 133m, 100% acrylic yarn, hook size 3-4mm

...on the very top one skein of a turquoise cotton yarn, which I bought at Wolle Rödel, one of the many local yarn shops here in Kassel.
Rico Design essentials cotton lurex - Color Code 10, 50g, 170m, 97% cotton, 3% Polyester (lurex), hook size 3mm

I didn't buy most of that yarn on purpose, it just came my way more or less :)

Alright, that's it so far! Today I'm enjoying a day off because it's a public holiday (Fronleichnam, Corpus Christi). I originally planned to go to a garden festival with a friend. Unfortunately, it's been raining for three days straight now so we decided to postpone that. So hopefully on Saturday the weather will be better. No rain and some sunshine would be awesome. But well, we'll see...

Talk to you soon, ladies!
