Animal Visitors

A little off-topic today - I caught some of the anipals that came to our neighborhood last weekend on camera and thought I might share the videos. Enjoy :)

Just around the corner from where we live this lovely couple was waddling along catching our attention on our way back home from the gym. They seem to be annual visitors as I am quite sure that I already saw them the year before...

Only minutes after I put my new tomato plants into our balcony box, this little bee flew by...

A Wise Old Owl

Hello all,

look who's blogging on a regular basis again :D

Today I want to share one of the very first things I crafted in 2016 - owl post :)

To craft this little fluffy paper animal, I used one of the numerous Martha Stewart tutorials (see Owl Invitations) and made a few tweaks here and there and put a cute poem on the owl's belly.

    "A wise old owl lived in an oak
     The more he saw the less he spoke
     The less he spoke the more he heard.
     Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?"

Menswear Mice

Hi all,

this is also something I worked on during my blogging hiatus.

I might have already told you in one of my former blog posts that I own the Martha Stewart Encyclopedia of Fabrics and Sewing. Besides all the great tips it also has awesome project ideas in it. One of it is called Menswear Mice.

I made four of those using some IKEA cotton fabric. They turned out quite nice I'd say. Three do also have a bit of catnip in them beside the usual fiber fill. I already gave one away to my colleague and her two tigers seemed to like it :)

A short summary...

Good afternoon, everyone!

Sorry for being MIA for quite a while. I spent a couple of days with my cousin and her gorgeous anipals and therefore didn't have time to blog or even to craft. So here's just a quick summary of what was going on in my life during the last two weeks...

A week ago I traveled northbound to visit my cousin. We spent a lot of time outdoors walking the camels.

Back home I went through some old crafting things and found some potholders I made about 20 years ago in elementary school. I'm thinking about crocheting some new ones in a slightly different pattern.

Yesterday evening I celebrated Earth Hour and switched of the lights in my apartment from 8:30 pm until 9:30 pm. I spent this hour hooking by candlelight, a wonderful experience :)

And this morning I went out for breakfast together with my parents. My mom brought me one of her favorite magazines (Landlust) and I discovered some fun decoration stuff for bicycles in it.

Oh and I finally finished joining all the squares of my Rainbow Granny Blanket :) Now I'm working on the edging.

Llamas, alpacas and other anipals

Sorry for being MIA for so long! I had some days off which I spent in the Lueneburg Heath visiting my cousin. We had so much fun working with her camels and horses as well as cuddling with her two cute cats. Last Wednesday, we got an invitation from a friend who's breeding llamas and alpacas. We spent some really great hours at her farm meeting all the animals there. Let me show you some pictures:

Ship Of The Desert

This is not about crafting but I had to share it with you!
I just got back home from a short trip to Handeloh, Germany. That's where my cousin and her furkids live. And let me tell you, those anipals are truely unique :) Beside two cats and two horses my cousin also owns four amazing camels! Yes, camels - one dromedary and three bactrian camels.
Oh, we had so much fun with them! My cousin even let me ride on one of them :)
