I just quickly wanted to share with you three things:
1) I finally organized some yarn scraps using little card board cards
2) I am so hooked on Flow Magazine and Mollie Makes thanks to my friend Kristin
3) I'm in love with Liquorice & Spearmint tea and desperately searching for a shop near Kassel who's selling it
And that's it :)
Have a nice weekend, ladies!

Jar Lid Covers Revisited
My mum asked me to design a crochet jar lid cover for her. She loves to give self-made jam to friends and family and would like to add a little extra to the jars. This is what I came up with:
I used Schachenmayr Egypto Cotton for this which is a 100% cotton yarn. The colors are 00125 (mandarine) and 00122 (yellow).

A little help needed - traditional dishes, anyone?
Ladies (any Gentlemen reading this?!),
I need your help! I'm currently working on my bucket list for Fall. I know, last year's bucket list didn't really work out. Therefore I decided to come up with a more realistic one this year. And I would love to have more food related topics on it this time. So here's my big question for you:
What are your most favorite traditional Fall dishes?
Maybe there's a special bread you love, a cake or a pie, cookies, a dessert, a hearty dish... please tell me! Send me an email (see address on right under the social media icons) or leave a comment with the recipe or a link to the recipe!
Just a little PS here: I'm a vegetarian. So in case you would like to recommend a dish that traditionally involves meat, don't worry, go for it, just recommend a substitute and I'm fine :)
Oh and another PS. If you would like to recommend a pie, please consider adding a pie crust recipe as well. Germany hasn't realized yet that there are such things as pre-made pie crusts (and with that I mean that traditional American pie thingy). Unfortunately, that is also the case for canned pumpkin puree but that's a different topic...

Baked Goods for Tea
Oh I tell you, baking when it's about 30°C and more and humidity is beyond bearable is so much fun :)
Well, I had a friend over for tea yesterday. As a good host I prepared some baked goods.
These are Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins. The recipe is from Alicia Silverstone's The Kind Diet.
And these are very simple 3 ingredient Apple Turnovers. 4 ingredients if include water. All you need for them is puff pastry and applesauce as well as some powdered sugar mixed with some water for the icing.
Happy Sunday!

Crafty Gift Card
My mum wants to buy a new sewing machine. One of those multifunctional ones that aren't exactly low-priced. So she asked us all to give her gift cards for her birthday this year. This is the one I made for her using some of the scrap booking paper I bought a couple of weeks ago at the local craft store (see Craft Store Shopping Haul post). I simply cut out a sewing machine shape and glued fabric behind it. Et voilà, my gift card:
Have a sunny weekend, everyone!
It's super hot here in Kassel lately. Yesterday it was about 34°C, today it will probably be the same.

Cotton Make-Up Remover Pads
I got the idea for this project a couple of months ago while browsing some of my favourite blogs. On one I saw some self-hooked and self-sewn make-up remover pads. Well, I had some cotton yarn on hand and instantly began working on my own version.
First I made some samples for me and my friend Kristin - make-up remover pads, washcloths, dishcloths, scrubbies.
After a while I figured out what worked for me and what didn't. So I added some more of the bigger 100% cotton make-up remover pads to my collection.
For these I used Wolle Rödel Cotton Universal (100% cotton, 50 g / 85 m, recommended hook size 4 - 5 mm, 6632 light blue) and a 4 mm hook.
So easy to hook and also quick to make. Not to mention they are machine washable and therefore can be reused!

Glass Jar Crochet Covers
As mentioned in my workbasket post a couple of days ago I've been working on some glass jar crochet covers lately. I actually finished this project pretty quick, so here's the result:
And I already have a new project on my hook, the little stockings I talked about earlier while taking inventory of my workbasket :)
They were made with Schachenmayr Egypto Cotton. I also hooked the mason jar lid cozies for Kristin with it. The colors are 00111 (nougat), 00122 (yellow), 00171 (dark forest) and 00125 (mandarine).

What's in my Workbasket
Hey Ladies,
I thought it would be about time to take stock of all that unfinished projects lingering in my workbasket. Let's have a look, shall we?
Currently in progress are...
GLASS JAR COVERS I just started this project a couple of days ago, last Monday about half an hour before heading to work to be exact. As I told you earlier, I'm trying to add more crafty accessories to my craft room / home office. Last weekend, I went through that huge messy box of pens, rulers, rubbers, highlighters and whatnot, sorted everything through and into some glass jars of various sizes. The glass jars look a bit blank so I thought I should add some color by simply hooking some nice covers. Well, I'm doing a bit of free styling here at the moment, let's see how things turn out. I'm quite positive that I'm going to get those covers finished quite soon.
MINI GRANNY SQUARE BRACELETS You might remember that little craft store shopping haul and the yarn I bought a little while ago. The yarn is fabulous, unfortunately the plastic crochet hook isn't. I started to hook a few small granny squares with it but then got pretty annoyed and decided to put this project on hold and order a metal crochet hook as a replacement. So I'm currently waiting for my Prym size 2 metal crochet hook to arrive.
A CHRISTMAS PRESENT I started this one in April and I made pretty good progress up to now. No further details at this point :)
Currently Hibernating are...
KNITTED SCARF I started this knitted scarf almost a year ago and so far it's about 20 cm long. I've got it on my agenda again for Fall/Winter this year, let's see...
LACY CROCHET HANDKERCHIEF EDGING After I finished the first round of SC, I misplaced the pattern. So I guess, I might have to unravel it and start all over again with a new pattern. Well, some day.
Starting soon are...
CROCHET HANGERS I found this great pattern online, Dottie Angel's Happy Hangers. My first attempt unfortunately ended up in a total mess. I guess the hanger I wanted to hook this for was simply to big. I'm going to give it another try soon - with a slightly modified pattern.
CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS As I told you earlier, I'm currently working on new ornaments for my Christmas tree. The first I finished were the little snowmen, up next are some stockings.
And that's it!
I will keep you posted on the progress of the different projects :)
